| ok, been a while, hasnt it? well, here goes one long post, lets go chronologically...
jennifer left for south carolina last thursday, and will be gone all of august. oh man, it was pretty bad, lol. havent talked to her in a week, but last i heard she was having a blast and getting ready to take over the store (she went to interim operate a chickfila). oh, and the operator she took over for was apparently gorgeous and she couldnt wait for him to leave so she could focus. great, right?
i was at church camp all last week. on the information page they sent us it talked about living in rough conditions, but i really didnt take it seriously. i mean, who's going to make a bunch of teenagers on a mission trip really rough it? well, they did. think, living in an unairconditioned school, sleeping in tiny classrooms with 18 other girls and luggage, showering outside in garden hoses (in little makeshift showers), and running out of clothes because you've sweat so much! but all in all, it was an amazing trip. made some good friends, had a blast playing football every night, helped at a nursing home, all that good stuff. on tuesday night we had extended free time, so my church went to lake ontario and had steak dinners at this cute little tavern (courtesy of the church lol), and played on the beach/lake. it was great. i was excited to get home to a bed and hot shower, but i miss my friends a lot!!
today i went to baptist church followed by pentecostal church. i met up with misty (jennifers roommate) so we could go to pent church together, but we didtn realize that service time had been changed to 10, so we show up at 11. we're walking into the main doors of the church and we hear yelling already in the sanctuary so i make a joke about how they get excited fast, and then we walk in and bro. becton is already preaching. we sit down and not 3 minutes later he goes 'in a moment when we close...', and misty and i look at each other and crack up. so we were there all of like 20 minutes. then we went to jonathons grill and saw a woman who was so far gone she couldnt walk straight (at noon on a sunday...) and a lesbian couple (we assume) with a son.
my parents are leaving for north carolina in the morning and i have to stay here  i'm glad to have a week alone, but at the same time i really want to go see my best friend. i havent seen her since the first of the year! anyways, i'm tired of typing. sooo, everyone have a great night! go to church, its good for you! |
